What you’ll learn
This course is aimed at beginner and enthusiast/intermediate levels and covers:
- Mastering manual settings: Learn how to take full control of your camera by understanding manual settings for perfect exposure, including aperture, shutter speed and ISO.
- Essential photography principles: Explore the foundational rules of photography, such as light, focus, and depth of field, to elevate your images.
- Composition techniques: Discover how to frame your shots creatively, using techniques like the rule of thirds, leading lines, and symmetry for visually compelling results.
- When and why to adjust settings: Gain confidence in knowing when to tweak settings like ISO or shutter speed to adapt to different environments and subjects.
- Capturing the perfect moment: Develop the patience and instinct to anticipate and freeze fleeting, candid moments.
Whether your passion lies in portraits, landscapes, pets, children, or another genre, you’ll gain skills that can be adapted to any photography style.
Weekend outline
Friday afternoon / evening
Settle into your accommodation, whether it’s camping, a lodge or a mobile home.
Saturday full day photography course from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Lunch may be ordered ahead of time or you can head back to your accommodation for some.
Sunday morning photography course from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
The campsite has allowed late checkout for those attending the course. So no need to rush in the morning!
What you need to bring
You don’t need a fancy camera, but it helps. Perhaps you just want to shoot on a simple phone for the weekend and see if photography lights you up!
Whatever you are using, you’ll learn to use the Manual settings and how to change your settings for various creative effects.
Bring the manual for whatever you’re shooting on, so that you can find out how to change settings on your make and model of camera.
Bring all weather wear! We’ll be heading outdoors for the practical experiments!

Whether you’re a complete beginner or want to refine your skills, this course is designed to inspire and empower you.
Pricing
Course costs €250 per person for the weekend (full day Saturday, half day Sunday)
If there are 2 or more people in a party it’s €200 each.
Children from 12-15 can attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian, who will be responsible for them at all times.
From age 16 one can attend on their own.
